Soccer Recap: Neuqua Valley Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Neuqua Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their defense stepped up to hand the Aurora East Tomcats a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. Given Neuqua Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Aurora East are ranked 212th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Neuqua Valley's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matchups. As for Aurora East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season.
