Landstown is 9-1 against Tallwood since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Landstown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Landstown's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Tuesday, when they got past Kellam's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Eagles came out on top against the Knights by a score of 13-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Cam Tellefsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tellefsen was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Kyle Flora was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Landstown is undefeated when Flora posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trey Campos, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tallwood didn't have quite enough to beat Bayside on Tuesday and fell 5-3. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tallwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Whaley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Landstown's record is now 9-3. As for Tallwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Tallwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Landstown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Tallwood, though, as they've only averaged .190. Will they be able to contain Landstown's hitters?
Landstown took their win against Tallwood in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
