Basketball Recap: Tomari Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Foothill over Roseville

Foothill and Roseville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Foothill had to settle for second. They fell 77-67 to the Roseville Tigers. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Foothill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tomari Harris, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Kelton Johnson was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Leading Roseville to victory were Tyler Ritter and Oreste Yong. Ritter shot 60% from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points and seven rebounds, while Yong dropped a double-double with 20 points and 23 boards. Yong is becoming a predictor of Roseville's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 15-5 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Matthias Howard, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds.

Foothill dropped their record down to 17-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Roseville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-10.

Foothill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roseville, they have already played their next contest, a 70-62 loss against Burbank on the 21st.
