Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Freeman

There's no place like home for Freeman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Scotland/Menno Trappers on Thursday as the Freeman Flyers made off with a 53-28 victory. The Flyers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Freeman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vaida Ammann, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave Ammann a new career-high in steals. Rylee Peters was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Freeman's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 19.6 points. As for Scotland/Menno, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Freeman will challenge Rapid City Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Freeman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. As for Scotland/Menno, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gayville-Volin at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
