Volleyball Recap: Smithtown East's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Smithtown East was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Comsewogue on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulls took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hauppauge Eagles on Monday. The Bulls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

While Smithtown East ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-27, 25-22, 25-18.

Skyla Sullivan paced Smithtown East's offense, picking up 18 kills. Sullivan got some help from Rosemarie Remsen and her 16 assists. Sadie LaPresti controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Smithtown East's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-4-5. As for Hauppauge, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Smithtown East has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Eastport-South Manor on the 8th. As for Hauppauge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against East Islip on the 8th.
