Basketball Recap: Lodi Academy Takes a Loss

Lodi Academy played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-27 loss at the hands of the Humphreys Able Charter Legacy. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Legacy: they've now lost six in a row.

Lodi Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Zinke, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Zinke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Jonah Pandjaitan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Lodi Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Humphreys Able Charter found their leader in sophomore Khamseng Milavong, who earned 24 points. With that strong performance, Milavong is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Noah Watson, who had 12 points.

Lodi Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Humphreys Able Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Lodi Academy has already played their next contest, a 62-51 loss against Tioga on the 3rd. As for Humphreys Able Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-45 defeat against Elliot Christian on the 3rd.
