The West Mifflin Titans will head out to face off against the Ringgold Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. West Mifflin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
West Mifflin's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over South Allegheny.
West Mifflin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Fleming, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Ringgold made easy work of Albert Gallatin on Wednesday and carried off a 10-0 win. Considering the Rams have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Anthony Koziel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ringgold is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Ringgold let Gavin Angotti and Andrew Sprinkle run wild. Angotti scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Sprinkle went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Angotti posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Demetri Lowe was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Ringgold was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
West Mifflin pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ringgold, their record now sits at 4-6.
Ringgold's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Mifflin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. It's a different story for Ringgold, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain West Mifflin's hitters?
West Mifflin skirted past Ringgold 6-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
