Basketball Recap: Rantoul Takes a Loss

Rantoul was the 46-44 winner over Prairie Central when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Rantoul Eagles and the Prairie Central Hawks didn't end well, with the Rantoul Eagles falling 59-40. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Prairie Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cami Slagel out in front who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Abi Nimbler was another key player, going 7 for 17 on her way to 16 points and five steals.

Rantoul's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Prairie Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.

Rantoul has already played their next game, a 52-37 defeat against Danville on the 14th. As for Prairie Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-37 loss against St. Joseph-Ogden on the 13th.
