Soccer Game Preview: North Pole vs. Lathrop

The North Pole Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Lathrop Malemutes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lathrop will have to contend with a North Pole squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen yet this season. North Pole came up short against West Valley on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Lathrop made sure to put some goals up on the board against Bartlett on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Golden Bears an 11-0 shutout. Elijah Hoop was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The victory got Lathrop back to even at 1-1. As for North Pole, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-2.

North Pole suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Lathrop in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
