It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westwood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ramsey Rams, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since May 11, 2024.

Jack Walsh made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Walsh was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Andrew Rodriguez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Joe Cerritelli was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Mardi Ekmekjian was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The win got Westwood back to even at 2-2. As for Ramsey, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Westwood will face off against Fort Lee at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Bridgemen have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Ramsey, they will be playing at home against Dumont at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
