Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson County Tigers vs. Franklin County Seahawks

The Jefferson County Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Franklin County Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Jefferson County's offense. They lost 24-0 to Rickards on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Jefferson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Boyd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Franklin County suffered their biggest loss since February 21st on Monday. They came up short against Holmes County, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Seahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Franklin County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jefferson County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
