Softball Recap: Immaculate Heart Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to 15

Immaculate Heart Academy had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Rutherford Bulldogs. The Blue Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Immaculate Heart Academy pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rutherford, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4-1.

Looking ahead, Immaculate Heart Academy will venture away from home to challenge Paramus Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Rutherford, they will welcome Weehawken at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
