Baseball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Mobile Christian's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Mobile Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the St. Paul's Episcopal Saints by a score of 4-3. The Leopards were not able to make up for their loss to the Saints from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Maddox McKinion was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Those hits marked the first that he allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Bryce Rivers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Mobile Christian's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 7-18 when he doesn't). Landen Douglass was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Mobile Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9-1 record this season.

While Mobile Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
