Recap: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. West Jones Mustangs
The St. Patrick Fighting Irish had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They managed a 65-60 victory over West Jones. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
St. Patrick's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matt Krass, who scored 24 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Krass has scored at least 25% of St. Patrick's points. Another player making a difference was Alex Triplett, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
St. Patrick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for West Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Patrick will be home for the holidays to greet Gautier at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Jones will be home for the holidays to greet Taylorsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
