Basketball Game Preview: Shekinah Christian Flames vs. Independence 76ers

The Shekinah Christian Flames will face off against the Independence 76ers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shekinah Christian has nine straight wins, Independence has 35 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Shekinah Christian strolled past Delaware Christian with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. Given the Flames' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Eagles are ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Independence played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 78-52 to South. The 76ers were down 57-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Shekinah Christian pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
