Softball Recap: Commack Cougars vs. Bay Shore Marauders
Commack had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Bay Shore Marauders. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kate Schweitzer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Schweitzer was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Johnston, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Hawkins, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Commack kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bay Shore only managed ten.
