Basketball Game Preview: Oakleaf Knights vs. Bradford Tornadoes

Oakleaf has gone 5-0 against Bradford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Oakleaf Knights just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Bradford Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. Oakleaf knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Bradford likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Oakleaf ended up a good deal behind Fleming Island and lost 84-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (63), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Bradford waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 65-64 victory over the Panthers. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Panthers are ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oakleaf better focus on containing Jy'Quez Cason and Maliki Cobarris as the pair were huge in Bradford's win. Cason went 9 for 17 on his way to 21 points along with eight boards and five assists, while Cobarris went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points and eight assists. The contest was Cobarris' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cason, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Bradford pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Oakleaf, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.

Oakleaf strolled past Bradford in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 65-46. Does Oakleaf have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bradford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
