Basketball Recap: GEO Next Generation Tigers vs. Berwick Panthers
After flying high against St. Katharine Drexel last Monday, GEO Next Generation came back down to earth. The GEO Next Generation Tigers fell 36-26 to the Berwick Panthers on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, GEO Next Generation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ivoryana Powell posted ten points.
Azyria Garrison continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Berwick, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Garrison is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game.
GEO Next Generation's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Berwick, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
