Football Recap: DeRidder Takes a Loss

If DeRidder was riding high fresh off their 48-16 takedown of Washington-Marion last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons had to suffer through a 47-14 loss at the hands of the Iowa Yellowjackets. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Although DeRidder took the loss, they still got scores from Tyrel Silva and Bryson Walker.

J'Vien Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Iowa, rushing for 170 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Adams' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Bushnell, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

DeRidder's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Iowa, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Coming up, DeRidder will square off against Eunice at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Iowa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
