Softball Game Preview: Troy Flying Horses vs. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans

The Troy Flying Horses will venture away from home to take on the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Troy comes in on six and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on three.

Troy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Bethlehem Central by a score of 9-6.

Meanwhile, while Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Queensbury. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake was the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Queensbury.

Ava Yahoudy made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Addisyn Knapik was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Adone, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Troy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, their record is now 13-4.

Troy came up short against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in their previous matchup on May 1st, falling 7-2. Can the Flying Horses avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
