Basketball Recap: Westside Makes It 20 in a Row at Home

Westside came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Southside Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-28 victory. With the Rams ahead 47-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Asia Clinkscales was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-11 on her way to 20 points and six assists. What's more, she also posted a 82% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Khalia Hartwell was another key player, going 7-for-9 en route to 16 points and six rebounds.

Westside's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Southside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
