Baseball Recap: L.C. Bird Comes Up Short

L.C. Bird was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 24-3 to the Colonial Heights Colonials. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Skyhawks of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

L.C. Bird's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Colonial Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coming up, L.C. Bird will venture away from home to square off against Clover Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Skyhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Colonial Heights, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Thomas Dale at 6:00 p.m.
