Basketball Recap: Tensas Takes a Loss

Tensas lost against St. Frederick back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tensas Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the St. Frederick Warriors. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Tensas lost, don't look at Shakira Turner. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary-Ana Carter, who posted five points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Tensas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Tensas' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for St. Frederick, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Tensas has already played their next matchup (against Block), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Frederick will face off against Delta Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Frederick is facing Delta Charter at the right time seeing as Delta Charter is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
