Softball Recap: Brownstown Central Braves vs. Jennings County Panthers

Brownstown Central lost against Jennings County back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Brownstown Central Braves fell just short of the Jennings County Panthers by a score of 8-7.

Rylee May put in work no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits (she also didn't allow any walks). May was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double.

In other batting news, Lyla Huffman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emily Dillman was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Brownstown Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jennings County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Brownstown Central will play host again on Monday to welcome Bedford North Lawrence, where first pitch is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. As for Jennings County, they will head out on the road to square off against Shelbyville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Shelbyville and Jennings County are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
