St. Mary's Prep had already won 17 in a row and they went ahead and made it 18 on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lutheran North Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

St. Mary's Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lindsey Schwegman, who had 28 assists and eight digs. Schwegman is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Zoey Kapeller was another key player, getting 16 digs and three assists.

St. Mary's Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

St. Mary's Prep's record now sits at 25-6-3. As for Lutheran North, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

The future could be bright for both St. Mary's Prep and Lutheran North: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Eaglets will try to hand Detroit Country Day their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lutheran North will look to extend Almont's five-game losing streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
