Softball Recap: Trinity Christian Warriors vs. Grafton Bearcats
Trinity Christian had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-10 to make it four. They fell just short of the Grafton Bearcats by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Peyton Moore and Paige Hopkins did some serious damage despite the final result: Moore went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and four runs, while Hopkins went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Moore continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played.
As for Grafton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
On Grafton's side, Lillie Crimm was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Crimm has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Ruth Horne was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run. Karigan Wildroudt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Coming up, Trinity Christian will host Cameron at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.9 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. Grafton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
