Softball Recap: East Central's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Central had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Brookhaven Panthers. Considering the Hornets have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lizzy Kennedy was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Danis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

The win was the third in a row for East Central, bringing their record up to 23-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Brookhaven, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Central beat the Panthers by a score of 14-1 later that day.
