Football Recap: Classical Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win + How To Watch

Classical had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 40-28 win over the Mt. Hope Huskies on Sunday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Purple were down 28-14 in the second quarter.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Classical's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Robert Tanenbaum and Leo Francois, who racked up all five sacks between them. Francois has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last four times he's played.

Despite the defeat, Mt. Hope saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyler Rhynard rushed for 65 yards and one score.

The win keeps Classical at an undefeated 11-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.6 points over those games. As for Mt. Hope, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Classical has already played their next game, a 42-28 win against Mt. Pleasant on the 26th. As for Mt. Hope, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-2 defeat against Barrington on the 27th.
