Gaither relied on the efforts of Ej Archield Jr, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and Elija Mason, who gained 148 total yards and two touchdowns. Mason got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 71 yards. Bryan Hamilton was another key player, picking up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Gaither wouldn't let Wharton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as John Benson, Serious Stinyard, and Elijah Rich picked up one apiece.
Cypress Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gaither, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
