Game recap

PARADISE, Calif. - Paradise (Calif.) snapped the four-game winning streak of Chico (Calif.), with a 45-12 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a field goal by Mitchel McFarland in the first quarter, the Bobcats were up 24-0 at the half.

Paradise grew its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Kenny Bengson touchdown run.

With the win the Bobcats extended their winning streak to five games. Paradise defeated Las Plumas 49-7 last week.

Paradise entered the contest giving up 27.0 points per game this year. PHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Panthers well below the 33.2 points it had been averaging per game.

The victory will ease some of the sting of Paradise's close 36-35 loss to Chico last season.

The loss comes after Chico defeated Pleasant Valley 55-20 last week.
