Soccer Game Preview: Morris vs. Washington

The Morris Redskins will face off against the Washington Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morris' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Morris managed to keep up with IC Catholic Prep until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Redskins lost 4-0 to the Knights.

Meanwhile, Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Morton on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Morton are ranked 25th).

Washington has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9-1 record this season. As for Morris, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1.

Morris suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Washington when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
