Softball Game Preview: Glide Wildcats vs. Junction City Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Glide Wildcats challenge Junction City Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Junction City took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Glide, who comes in off a win.

Glide's tournament run continued when they took on North Valley on Saturday. Glide came out on top against North Valley by a score of 8-5. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly three runs.

Emma Geiger and Samantha Moyers did most of the damage at the plate: Geiger went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Moyers scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Geiger is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Geiger, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Junction City's offense. They came up short against South Umpqua on Tuesday, falling 10-0.

Glide pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Junction City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
