Kennedy Sloan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Sloan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addie Macdougall, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Emmy Clark was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, South Brunswick's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Laney by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, South Brunswick couldn't push the score so high this time.

Like Topsail, South Brunswick also got a great game from a two-way player: Kina Davis. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
