Softball Recap: Pickerington Central Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pickerington Central walked away with it. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Hilliard Darby Panthers on Monday. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Pickerington Central let Tisha Thompson and Camree Cunningham run wild. Thompson got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Cunningham went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Thompson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jenna Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Pickerington Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 9-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pickerington Central's record now sits at 14-11. As for Hilliard Darby, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

As of now, neither Pickerington Central nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
