Football Recap: Knightdale Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Knightdale extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-39 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sanderson Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly three points.

Despite the loss, Knightdale still got an impressive performance from Jamel Perry, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 219 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. 81 of those passing yards were hauled in by Le'Eric Cooper, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

As for Sanderson, their record now sits at 3-1. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Knightdale: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Young III, who rushed for 131 yards and three scores. Chase Bowie also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.

Knightdale has already played their next matchup, a 38-35 victory against South Granville on the 19th. As for Sanderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 63-27 win against Chapel Hill on the 19th.
