After a string of four wins, Wethersfield's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Monmouth United Red Storm. The Flying Geese were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Wethersfield was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Monmouth United work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 27-25.

Wethersfield's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 27-6. As for Monmouth United, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-19 record this season.

Wethersfield has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Elmwood on the 23rd. As for Monmouth United, they are taking a road trip to take on Knoxville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
