Preview: Balmorhea Bears vs. Marfa Shorthorns
Balmorhea is 10-0 against Marfa since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Balmorhea Bears' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Marfa Shorthorns at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Balmorhea is ranked 1195th, while Marfa is ranked 1205th).
Balmorhea suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by McCamey 55-28.
Meanwhile, Marfa waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Dell City 55-38.
Balmorhea's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Marfa, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10.
Balmorhea skirted past Marfa 31-29 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Balmorhea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
