Simon Kenton posted their biggest victory since February 24, 2024 on Monday. They claimed a resounding 56-27 win over the Walton-Verona Bearcats. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Bearcats are ranked 58th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Simon Kenton has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Walton-Verona, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4.

Simon Kenton will welcome Cooper at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Simon Kenton has won six straight at home, while Cooper won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
