Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Shady Side Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against East Allegheny on Monday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Wild Cats with a sharp 13-1 win. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.
The team relied heavily on Ty McCaskey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Dillon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Fox Chapel's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shady Side Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-12 record this season.
Fox Chapel was able to grind out a solid victory over Shady Side Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
