Basketball Recap: Capuchino Comes Up Short

Capuchino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the San Mateo Bearcats and fell 57-30. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 891st, while the Bearcats are ranked 225th).

Capuchino's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Pogue, who posted four points and five boards. Jordan Estrella was another key player, putting up seven points.

Capuchino's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for San Mateo, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Capuchino Mustangs take on the El Camino Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Mateo has already played their next match (against Aragon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
