Basketball Recap: Canterbury Takes a Loss

Canterbury came up into this matchup off a tough 24-point loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Bayshore Bruins by a score of 69-67 on Friday. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Canterbury lost, don't look at Carlisle Barker. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Benbenisty, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Canterbury's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Bayshore, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-10.

Canterbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-50 victory against Tournament Opponent on the 4th. As for Bayshore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-27 defeat against Indian Rocks Christian on the 4th.
