Baseball Recap: Girard Takes a Loss

The Girard Indians might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-2 to the East Palestine Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Will Hynes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Girard's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).

Girard's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for East Palestine, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-7.

Girard has already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Struthers on the 12th. As for East Palestine, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Southern on the 12th.
