Baseball Game Preview: Galax Maroon Tide vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

The Galax Maroon Tide will venture away from home to challenge the Grayson County Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Galax has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with ten straight defeats, while Grayson County will come in with ten straight wins.

Galax couldn't beat Fort Chiswell on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Maroon Tide came up short against the Pioneers, falling 13-6.

Cayden Underwood made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Trey Markham was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Grayson County made easy work of George Wythe on Tuesday and carried off an 8-2 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grayson County's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Galax, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Galax might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Grayson County in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Maroon Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
