Softball Preview: Reedsburg Beavers vs. Stoughton Vikings
After two games on the road, Reedsburg is heading back home. They will take on the Stoughton Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Reedsburg is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Thursday, just like they did against Baraboo (and have done all season long). Reedsburg blew past Baraboo 13-2.
Kylee Molitor was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhianna Schommer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Stoughton scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sauk Prairie as Stoughton made off with a 19-7 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Stoughton as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Camille Buell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Buell was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with a home run, six RBI, and four runs.
In other batting news, Reese Koepke was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Madyson Verville was another key contributor, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI.
Reedsburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Stoughton, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
