Softball Recap: Lincoln County Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Lincoln County's victory against Model wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Lincoln County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Model on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lincoln County also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Trinity Price made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Halle Siler was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Autumn Durham, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Lincoln County's victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Model, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Lincoln County will host East Jessamine at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Model, they will head out to take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
