Kirtland put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let the Crestwood Red Devils on the board, marking the Hornets' second-straight 3-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Max Paul's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Matthew Kahley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Kirtland's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Crestwood, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

Kirtland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
