Soccer Game Preview: Great Oak vs. Poly + How To Watch

The Great Oak Wolfpack will take on the Poly Bears in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Wednesday, Great Oak didn't have quite enough to beat Oceanside and fell 2-1. The loss was Great Oak's first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Mason Pina, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Poly fell victim to Valley View and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Eagles an easy 6-0 victory. While losing is never fun, Poly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 909th, while Valley View are ranked 93rd).

Poly's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Great Oak, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-2.

Great Oak beat Poly by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
