Recap: Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers vs. Fullington Academy Trojans
The Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Fullington Academy 36-6 at home. The win was just what Augusta Prep Day needed coming off of a 35-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Augusta Prep Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Chavous led the charge by rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Chavous' longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Eli Mcfadgen was another key contributor, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Augusta Prep Day's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Fullington Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Augusta Prep Day will take on Georgia Christian at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Georgia Christian is ranked 457th, while Augusta Prep Day is ranked 444th). Fullington Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Thomas Jefferson Academy. Thomas Jefferson Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
