Basketball Recap: Adrian Apodaca's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rushville over Seton Catholic

It was a proper cat-fight when Rushville challenged Seton Catholic on Saturday. The Rushville Lions took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seton Catholic Cardinals. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rushville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Apodaca, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Zachery, who posted six points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Rushville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seton Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Tremain, who had nine points. Tremain has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jackson Feist was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Rushville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Seton Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Rushville and Seton Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Rushville (ranked 362nd) will meet Shenandoah (ranked 139th) at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Similarly, Seton Catholic (ranked 328th) will meet St. Henry (ranked 141st) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
