Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Comes Up Short

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 67-57 to the Perry Meridian Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 42-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Perry Meridian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sterlin Lewis led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devante Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 boards.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Perry Meridian, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Indianapolis Scecina Memorial will host Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry Meridian, they will take on Ben Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry Meridian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
